— Star

Star tattoos in Zurich — minimal, fine, one steady line.

Sinkply draws star tattoos in the fine line style — single small stars, personal constellations and quiet starry skies. One of the most common motifs for a first tattoo or a silent reminder of someone close. Founded by Aroa, Staffelstrasse 8.

Why so many people choose a star

The star is one of the calmest motifs we tattoo. Small enough to stay discreet, layered enough to carry something personal — a memory, a person, a steady inner point.

In the fine line style we draw stars with a single confident line — no fill, no doubled contours. That reduction is exactly what keeps the star calm and readable over the years.

Three ways to wear a star

Single star

A small four- or five-pointed star, 1–2 cm — drawn in one single line. Discreet, clean, ideal as a first tattoo or as a fine detail next to existing pieces.

Constellation

Several small stars connected by thin lines — either a classic one (e.g. zodiac) or a personal one mapped from a date or place. For the length of the composition we recommend the inner forearm or collarbone.

Starry sky

Several small stars scattered as a composition — no connecting lines, in different sizes. Calm, decorative, especially beautiful on the shoulder blade or lengthwise along the ribs.

Stars for loved ones

A frequent request: to wear a star for someone — a mother, a father, a child, someone who is gone. Some clients choose one star per person. Others add a date in fine lettering next to it.

We take time before the session to talk about what the motif means to you, and adjust number, position and size so that the tattoo brings that connection back every time you look at it. If you want lettering with it, see also our page on lettering tattoos.

Best body areas for a star

Stars are small and flexible. For single stars and constellations, calm, flat skin areas hold the design best.

FAQ — star tattoos

What does a star tattoo mean?

A star tattoo is one of the calmest and most personal motifs. Many people carry a star as a reminder of a loved one — a mother, a grandfather, a child. Others choose it as a symbol of direction or a steady inner point.

How much does a star tattoo cost in Zurich?

From around CHF 150 for 30 min. Exact price after sharing your idea on WhatsApp — for multiple stars or a full constellation we quote the piece as a whole composition.

Single star vs constellation vs starry sky?

A single star is small and calm, often 1–2 cm. A constellation shows several connected points with fine lines between them. A starry sky scatters several small stars as a composition, without connecting them.

Which body areas work for a star tattoo?

Very flexible: collarbone and chest for calm single stars, ankle and behind the ear for minimal mini stars. For constellations the inner forearm, shoulder blade or ribs work well. The session is planned individually.
