Fine line is the core discipline at Sinkply — the only technique we tattoo. On this page you'll find the different styles we work in within fine line: from tiny mini tattoos to large botanical compositions.
What is fine line?
Fine line is a tattoo technique using a single thin needle — single needle. Instead of multiple needles producing thick lines and heavy shading, we work with one needle that draws delicate, precise lines. No heavy fill, no traditional shading.
The style suits small to mid-size motifs with fine detail — a signature, a botanical branch, a symbol, a portrait. Longevity is real when properly tattooed: not too shallow (fades), not too deep (blowouts). We have worked exclusively in this technique since 2019.
When fine line isn't the right fit: for very large motifs with heavy fill, traditional styles (Old School, American Traditional) or realism with deep shadows, fine line isn't the right tool. If your idea doesn't suit fine line, we'll tell you honestly before booking.

Does a fine line tattoo last long? +
We work with ultra-thin needles at the correct skin depth — not too shallow, not too deep. Longevity depends on placement, skin, sun exposure and aftercare. In the first year we monitor how your tattoo settles and offer free touch-ups.
Is fine line good for a first tattoo? +
Excellent. Fine line is subtle, less painful than filled styles and ideal for discreet placements. We take time to consult and show the design on your skin before starting.
